#MakeupMonday Featuring the Dark 80s Makeup Look that Received the Most IG Votes in May 2018

Hey lovelies!

Well, this is the first Monday in June and it is time for #MakeupMonday! Today I am featuring the Instagram look from last month that received the most likes. This post won't be long on words but it does have a quick video tutorial to give you inspiration to create a similar look on your own.

80s Inspiration

This makeup look was inspired by the dark 80s makeup that many have forgotten about. We always see the bright neon 80s makeup looks, but never the dark looks. The dark looks were very intense, but also sexy and sultry. The original look came to me after taking a musical trip down memory lane watching the video for "Let Me Be the One" by the 80s girl group, Expose.

Here is the original look from Instagram:

I am wayyy late today with the #MakeupMay post for day 14. I was tired after therapy and then got caught up in the 80s and 90s. This look is an 80s-inspired look. Most think of 80s makeup as the fun bright colors. There was another side of 80s makeup, that dark, intense, smoky, seductress makeup. I was reminded of this look when I was walking down memory lane watching an old Expose video, “Let Me Be The One”. So this is my 80s Dark and Lovely or Sultry. Can’t decide yet. The Updated Look

I have to be honest, this was not my favorite look of the month. So, I wanted to tweak a little into something I would wear more often. I did this tweak also to show that you can play around with this dark 80s makeup look and still have the same feel. Check out the video with the tweaks I made to the look so you can be inspired:

What do you think of this dark 80s-inspired makeup look? Which do you prefer from that decade, the bright colors or the darker side? Let me know in the comments below.
