Beauty
Hands down Luca Luca had it for beauty for day 1. Simple, beautiful and easily achievable by most women.
- Hair - High, relaxed buns that were not super tight but not loose and free either. The buns were slightly fluffed. An easy chic style that virtually any woman can achieve and not give herself a headache because her hair is pulled back too tight.
- Face - Flawless faces, no high shine, dewy looks. Faces were semi-matte with not a
blemish in sight. This could be tricky if you have hyperpigmentation or other scarring. So I might suggest planning those visit to the dermatologist or making use of some of Avon's ANEW Clinical treatments to help you along the way. Concealer is definitely a must and a good powder foundation to keep shine to a minimum.
- Eyes - Eye makeup was natural-looking. Thinly lined, no heavy mascara and eyeshadow was neutral.
- Lips - Lips were the focal point of the face. Berry stained puckers dominated the show. Don't worry if you have never worn a berry shade of lipcolor before, you can ease into it this spring/summer by using a sheer berry gloss, then easing into a lipstain and finally migrating to a full-color berry lipstick.
Accessories
Apparel
Overall Luca Luca had the most wearable collection featuring what may be the dominant colors of fall 2011 the olive/berry color pallette. My favorite is the dark melon pant suit which I see could take one from day to night with a simple change of accessories, hair and makeup. If you are scared of color don't worry the dominate olive/berry pallete is offset by a smoky grey/black backdrop.
There you have it lovelies, my picks from Day 1 at #nyfw. Let me know is you agree or disagree with this choices in the comments below. Fashion is all about individual style and the beauty of it is, that we don't all have the same taste so it makes things interesting!
