A New Gen-X Direction for Fashion's Sense

Hello there my lovelies! I am sure you have noticed the content on this blog being geared more towards adult -- not adult as in porn but adult as in grown ass person -- content. I still will do a bit of gossip and trends. However, as I am now 40 years old I feel it is time that I represent more for women and men over 35 who love beauty and style content.

I am making this shift official to everyone with this post. In the beauty and fashion industry it seems that once you turn 35, you are pretty much forgotten. We can't even count on anti-aging products to be geared to us anymore when we see 20-somethings reviewing them. Not to be crass but unless a person in their 20s has been doing meth daily and drinking that brown liquor like it's water, chances are they do not have the same skincare concerns as a person between the ages of 35 and 60. Being 40 myself, I can't tell someone over 60 exactly how a product is going to treat their skin. So, I want to make sure that I represent my peer group.

I will try to write more about practical beauty and style tips, career tips related to beauty and style, review products with my peer group in mind, and of course I am always here to represent #teamnatural and my #kinkycoily friends. This change takes a load of pressure from me as well. I must be honest, I'm tired of trying to learn all the new terminology that millennials and post-millennials use. It can be exhausting sometimes. I am not mad at them because this is their moment. I'm a Gen-Xer, I had my time when beauty and fashion was pretty much all about me. Just like the generation before mine, and so on, and so forth had their times in the sun.

What I want to do is try to make sure that brands do not forget us because we still spend a ton of money annually on beauty alone. Since our bodies are changing we spend our hard duckets on clothing as well. Our skin might not be as firm as it once was, our hair is more tinsel-touched than it used to be, but we still want to look our best. We still love makeup. I know it's hard to believe, but our love for makeup and color did not end the day we turned 35. Some of us still plan on rocking a red lip well past age 90.

With this change, I want my age 35 to 60+ lovelies to let me know what type of beauty, fashion, and even some entertainment or tech content you would like to see more of. I will have a review of an anti-aging skincare product coming in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for that.

So, tell me what you want, what you really, really want!
