The Glossy Lid Trend

Hey lovelies! For "G" Day I am going to touch on the glossy lid trend from last year. It is still sticking around a bit but it had its major run in 2016. It is still popping up this year but not as much. Glossy lids are versatile because they can be sexy, sultry, trashy, sophisticated, and demure. However, what I loved most about this trend was that it gave me a sense of validation. Back when I wrote about applying lip gloss to your lids, people thought I was cru-ay-zay!

I've always been an advocate of applying lip gloss or lipstick to your lids for a quick perk up when out and about. While the glossy lids trend is supposed to be a fashionable, Instagram makeup type of thing, it is very applicable to everyday life.

For spring especially, keeping a sheer gloss on hand is a smart move. We don't always leave the house or even stay in the house wearing makeup. Sometimes you might see someone that you want to look slightly fab around. However, you might not have time to beat that face. So, glossy, not greasy, lids with a hint of color gives your face my dimension.

I say take that gloss a bit further and apply a little to your cheekbones. Of course, apply to your lips for a subtle fresh look. I'm bold and confident to rock it even with my hyperpigmentation showing. So, if I can wear it with confidence, you clear skinned, flawless lovelies should not have a problem.

My advice for applying to lids is cheeks is to use a light touch on them. You don't go for the same high shine you would for your lips. In real life, offline, glossy lids look better as a sheen. So, don't be afraid of the look.

Have you tried glossy yet? How did you like the look on you?
