Hey lovelies! Fall is (un)officially here with students back to school and the fall merchandise in stores. Now it is time to get your fall beauty picks ready before the first major social event of the season.
Now you need those transitional products. The weather can be both hot and cold during the transition from summer to fall. This will mean an adjustment to your skin care routine. Your oil-free, oil-zapping products are good for the warm days but you will need to transition to products that provide moisture at night when the temperature may drop significantly. Here are my picks for day and evening:
- Vitamin C Cleanser
- Vitamin C Toner
- Hyaluronic Acid Serum - I love OZ Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum
- Vitamin C Serum
- Skin Clearing Moisturizer - My fave is Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Moisturizer
- Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser
- Mineral Toner
- Retinol Serum - I prefer Body Merry Pro-A Serum
- Vitamin C Serum
- Retinol Moisturizer - Another OZ Naturals favorite of mine is the Super Youth 2.5% Retinol Moisturizer
In the early days of fall, the days may be hot. Some of you lovelies may still want to sport tinted moisturizer on your face. As the weather cools down, you most likely will switch back to foundation. Make sure to wear foundation that has sunscreen and preferably one that acts like a skin care treatment.
If you need to control things like oil, it is best to start wearing a primer again. I recently fell in love with Dr. Brandt Skincare Pores No More Pore Refiner Primer and paired with Maybelline's Super Stay Better Skin Foundation, your face will be ready for whatever fall beauty look you create.
The smoky eye is the easy fall makeup trend of the season. It doesn't need to be perfect, but it should feature purple/plum hues and/or orange hues. If you are creative, you can mix orange and plum shades together for your smoky eye look. If you are not very skilled especially at blending then stick to one hue range. Choose a color-rich eyeshadow palette that features a plum and orange hue with smoky or earthy tones to balance them out like Chrislie's Measurable Difference Desert Nights Eyeshadow.
Lashes should also be dramatic, so choose either a lengthening and volumizing mascara or wear a pair of false lashes. Work on those brows for fall as well. They do not need to be bold brows (too many people mess the bold brow up) just define and keep them tidy.
Cheeks and Lips
The hot shade for cheeks and lips are in the berry/wine family. I suggest finding a light plum shade for cheeks. Lips can be very pale or dark and dangerous for fall. I am fond of wine shades like Covergirl's Colorlicious Lipstick in Divine Wine.
What is your fall beauty plan this year? Which color team are you one: Orange or Plum?
