Moisture Care for Flake-Free Curls

Hey lovelies! I am excited to share with you a line of hair care I had the chance to test and a moisturizing leave-in conditioner that will leave you with great-looking curls that last for days. First are two products from the Head & Shoulders Moisture Care line. Second is The Roots Naturelle Oil Moisturizer and Leave-in Conditioner.

Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Line

Thanks to BzzAgent, I got the opportunity to try three Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Products: 2-in-1 Shampoo/Conditioner, Co-Wash, and Scalp Soother. I am focusing on the two products I continued to use which are the 2-in-1 Shampoo/Conditioner and the Scalp Soother. I won't go into detail about my results with the co-wash in this post. To find out what I think of it, check out my review on Amazon.com.

Head & Shoulders Moisture Care 2-in-1 Dandruff Shampoo Plus Conditioner

When I relaxed my hair, I used Head & Shoulders to calm my itchy, flaky scalp. When I went natural, it was a bit too harsh for my hair and I switched to another brand. This 2-in-1 was quite gentle on my hair even without it being SLS-free. I was able to do my normal coconut oil pre-poo with this. My hair felt soft and not stripped. My scalp was clean and clear of flakes. Now if Head & Shoulders can provide the same anti-dandruff action but in an SLS-free formula, they will have come up with a stellar product. However, this shampoo is a good start.

Head & Shoulders Moisture Care Scalp Soother Treatment

The Scalp Soother Treatment is the darling of the line, in my opinion. If you absolutely refuse to use a shampoo that is not SLS-free then this treatment will be your best friend. While it probably is most effective when used with Head & Shoulders shampoos, it does the job of calming itch and keeping flakes at bay on its own. If you use this then follow with a scalp oil, you will have a calm scalp that is dandruff-free and moisturized. I use this with my anti-itch scalp oil and my scalp remains itch-free for days.

The Roots Naturelle Oil Moisturizer and Leave-in Conditioner

Some can use a 2-in-1 and not need a conditioner afterward. I am not that person. I still need a conditioner. The Roots Naturelle is a good one to use. It is too thick for me to use on wet hair. Once my hair is slightly damp, I can use it to moisturize my hair before styling.

What I love about this leave-in is that while it is thick, it does not weigh my hair down. At first, I thought it would but I am happy I was wrong in that thinking. I have to say that this is the third product from The Roots Naturelle I've sampled and I love all three. If you have kinky curly coils, check this brand out sometime.

What These Three Products Do For Me

The moisture these products provide curly hair with helps to lay the foundation for defined curls that can be styled in many ways. Believe me; what you use to wash and condition your curls plays a big role in how your styles will come out. These products along with my NYM Deja Vu Do Style Extender gave me beautiful, full, and hydrated curls for my birthday dinner that lasted four days without frizz. Head & Shoulders and The Roots Naturelle are currently working to give me a fierce protective style that requires no additional styling products. When you have a good foundation, you do not require much else for your hair.

Does your shampoo and conditioning regimen give you a good foundation for your summer hairstyles?
