Makeup Crush: Chirp Cosmetics

Hey lovelies! I am excited about this post. Last month I received complementary samples of a cosmetic brand from Sault Sainte Marie, Ontario, Canada called Chirp Cosmetics. I have to say that I am crushing hard on this brand right now. Let me tell you a little about them first.

About Chirp Cosmetics

Chirp Cosmetics is an artisan makeup brand from Ontario, Canada. What this means is that the makeup is handcrafted, no assembly line, mass-market products. It is a husband and wife team, with the wife creating the makeup and husband handling the design. Chirp makes eyeshadow, blush, lip color, and translucent face powder. All are safe to use.

Chirp Eyeshadow

Chirp has 22 eyeshadow shades that are highly pigmented. I know just about every eyeshadow out now makes that claim. However, I can attest this is true for Chirp's shadows. While testing these shades out, I did not need to use an eyeshadow primer. Every shade gives you full on color.

The shadows are loose powders that you shake out to use. I love this type of powder because there is minimal risk for contamination. You can also use them as eyeliner, especially if you want a smoldering smoky eye look. Two of their shades, Canyon and Chocolate are great brow powders as well.

Chirp Blush

There are only five blush shades Chirp offers. However, they pretty much cover all skin tones, and contouring needs. My favorites are Pinched (#1), Dahlia, and Rose Mauve. Chai and Sandstone are great shades as well; they are more like bronzer/contouring shades for my skin tone.

They are intense like the shadows. I recommend using a fan brush as it picks up a little bit of the color, just enough to give you a flush. If contouring, use your regular contour brushes.

Chirp Lip Color and Tint

Chirp makes seven lip colors ranging from shimmering neutrals to an intense red. My favorites are Babydoll (shimmering nude), Pink'd, and Classic (shimmering pink). There is currently only one lip tint shade, Bitten. Bitten is that ripe, cherry shade that makes you look like you finished eating a bowl red berries or ate some red-colored hard candies.

Final Thoughts

Currently there are no foundation shades, liners, or mascara in the product line up. That is ok by me. I fell in love with the intense colors. I even like the translucent powder that sets the makeup and gives me a soft matte finish. For handcrafted makeup, the prices are not that bad either.
  • 5g of Translucent Powder $20.00
  • 1.5 g Eyeshadow $8.00 each
  • 5 g Blush $16 each
  • Lip Stick $12.32 each Lip tub (pot) $10.00 each
  • Lip Tint $10.00
Chirp offers sample packets at a lower cost and some products can be purchased in larger sizes.
For sure, I will be purchasing some more once my current stock runs out. Judging by the way I am way I using my Pinched blush, this will be the first purchase.

**I received these products free from the merchant to test and give my honest review and share my experience. Backed by Tomoson.**
