Hair Care Review: H2Thermal - Thermal Activated Hair Repair

Fashion's Sense is starting out the month of March talking about hair! I am so excited to do this review because I had to hold on to it after I posted the Pura D’or review. I used those products and the H2Thermal Hair Repair last weekend. It has been a while since I have applied heat to my hair so I had no heat protectant in stock. Thanks to the H2Thermal, I now have a heat protectant for free so I finally straightened my hair last week. Want to know if it works or not? Read on to find out.

What is H2Thermal?

H2Thermal is a leave-in conditioner that is heat activated to:
  • Give you thicker, fuller hair
  • Repair split ends and breakage
  • Protect hair from heat styling damage
  • Moisturize hair
  • Lock out heat and humidity to prevent frizz
  • Adds body and shine to your hair

H2Thermal uses what it calls "moisture infusing microbeads" that are activated by heat to penetrate your hair strands to do all of the things the products claims.

Does H2Thermal Work?

For my hair needs, it does work. I do not blow dry or flat iron my hair. I do use an electric gold-n-hot hot comb -- that thing puts out some heat. Since I have low porosity hair, styling products do not easily absorb into my strands so I have to use a little product while my hair is wet. While my hair was still wet, I applied H2Thermal to my hair, blotted the excess water from my hair, sectioned my hair off and let it air dry.

Once my hair was dry, I used the hot comb to straighten it. There was no burning smell so I knew this leave-in did not cause the heat to fry my hair. My hair felt smooth and moisturized after straightening.  Therefore, it did protect it from heat styling and damage. My hair was well moisturized and had great shine.

Frizz-Free Curly Styling

As a curly girl I do not like to wear my hair straight often. I do prefer to rock my kinks and coils. So on day three I set my hair in Bantu knots. On days four and five, I was able to hair full, bouncy curls that were not frizzy. This is still winter so I am not quite sure how well H2Thermal will hold up to the Mid-Atlantic's humidity during the summer. It will initially give you smooth, sleek hair via thermal straightening.

H2Thermal's Final Grade: A-

This is a good product for heat styling. I have used better that were cheaper. Cost is the main reason for the "A-". It also gets this grade because if you do not apply heat to help dissolve the microbeads, your hair will look a bit dull. So if you do not plan on heat styling your hair, skip this leave-in.

I had fun doing this review. It made me revisit former styles and makeup looks I've done before that I really liked. You might recognize the recreation of Valentine's beauty look I did last year in the main picture.

Do you lovelies like to give yourself a little makeover when you try out a new beauty product?

**I received a free sample of the product to review. The opinions in this post are solely my own.**
